The following information is for both baseball and girls softball in regards to the District Travel Ball (DTB) program.
PURPOSE
District 28 is part of the SoCal District Administrators Association DTB Program within the fall season and is intended to provide a higher level of competition within our programs while retaining the same level of sportsmanship expected in Little League. This program allows pre-formed or "SELECT" league formed teams to join the local leagues in addition to the recreational (rec) division teams. DTB teams will play games within the DTB program consisting of DTB teams from District 28 and other Little League Districts in our surrounding area and association. They will only play against teams from the regular league ("recreational") divisions.
GUIDELINES
1.Pre-formed 10U thru Seniors teams MUST have players registered with the local league ( Player/team registration fee is up to the local league).
2. Dual registration requirement: Players must be properly registered for both the Rec and DTB teams ( No fee for DTB player registration with D28).
3. D28 DTB players may play in both the DTB and the Rec divisions concurrently only under the following rules:
4. Pitch-count limits: Parents and coaches must be mindful of the combined pitch count across both teams to prevent overuse injuries. Failure to maintain this requirement will result in manager or team disqualification from the program.
5. Rec games come first: A player’s commitment to their Rec team is top priority, meaning they can’t skip Rec games for any practice or game in the DTB program.
6. Team rosters must be submitted prior to any games being played. Only rostered players may practice and participate in games
7. Field Requirements: A team that registers for the D28 DTB program must have an available field for games for at least one day a week ( Sundays Preferred) to host games that will be scheduled.
8. Every team in the DTB Program will be expected to adhere to all District 28 policies and codes of conduct. Teams will also be expected to fulfill any field prep obligations.
9. Host teams are responsible for umpires and baseballs for their games.
10.Consequences for violations: District 28 can suspend players , coaches or teams from the DTB program if any of these rules are violated.
TOURNAMENT PLAY
As part of the DTB program there will be tournaments that come up hosted by various different districts and leagues. These tournaments carry their own registration fees set by the host and must be paid by the teams participating. Registration to these tournaments is strictly optional. Tournament participation is not guaranteed as some will have limited openings that are based on tournament size and format.
Teams that register must remember that they are there as a representative of the local league and District 28 and MUST adhere to tournament rules set by the host league and district.
